The idea :

To create a space where any woman in the Kappa Delta chapter at Virginia Tech can create a piece with the topic of their choosing and share it in one place.

The source of inspiration :

@28rowgirls (on Instagram) is a networking / marketing platform where businesses use college students to target a wider audience. That’s kind of irrelevant BUT they have a blog, called “Study Break”, that is open to anyone who is a part of their team and in March of 2020 I published a very personal piece titled I Promise You, You’re So Much More Than a Body. Pieces on this site vary from topics regarding seasonal fashion, mental health, food, study abroad and so much more.

Why?

So many of our KD girls are doing such cool stuff all the time. They have personal blogs, YouTube channels, small businesses, and more however, it’s hard to highlight what everyone’s up to using just Instagram.

Alas, the first sorority blog was born.

The Kappa Delta chapter at Virginia Tech is now the proud owner of a unique blog with creative visual pieces, traditional written pieces, and more.

Responsibilities for VP of PR include:

Building the site, creating a few personal pieces, recruiting writers, editing every piece, uniquely designing each page, and marketing the blog as a whole along with each individual piece.
